On Sunday the 26th of October, 2008 at approximately 10:30 P.M. Lawrence BOSIAK (77 years) arrived home at 3757 139 Ave after picking up some groceries. While walking to his residence BOSIAK was attacked by an unknown assailant and was shot and killed and discovered a seriously injured in the stairwell of the building. BOSIAK'S wallet was found a short distance away from the crime scene which leads police to belive that BOSIAK was the victim of a robbery. Witnesses have provided police with a description of a male seen running from the crime scene at around the time that the homicide occurred. It is unknown at this time if this male is a suspect or another potential witness to the crime. This unknown person fits the description of the composite drawing that is seen below.
Homicide investigators have recovered a handgun they believe to be connected to the recent murder of 77-year-old Lawrence Bosiak. The weapon was recovered from the area of the crime scene, and officers believe it is directly connected to the homicide.
The pistol seen below is a Franz Stock Berlin and is quite rare. Investigators believe the weapon may have been stolen.
